Participation in Community, Social and Civic Activities - Registration Group 0125

Community Participation

Support to leave the house, attend activities, try new places and build confidence in the community.

Encouraging, curious and confidence-building. Support that helps the world feel more familiar, one outing at a time.

How this support works

Community participation is about belonging, not just getting from one place to another. We help participants choose outings, social groups, education, volunteering and recreational opportunities that match their interests, energy and goals.

What we help with

Social outings and recreational activities
Support to attend appointments and programs
Skill building in everyday community settings
Confidence with public transport and local access
Connection with groups, hobbies and events

This may be right if...

1Participants who want to try new activities or return to old favourites
2People building confidence with appointments, shops, cafes or public spaces
3Families wanting support that turns community access into genuine connection

The practical bit

What support can look like week to week.

The right support should feel clear before it starts. We shape the details with the participant, family or coordinator so everyone knows the plan, the routine and the next step.

Plan an outing around the participant's interests

Practise travel, ordering, paying, asking questions or navigating venues

Support social groups, hobbies, sport, volunteering or local events

Reflect afterwards on what felt good and what to try next

What progress can look like

Small changes can make daily life feel easier.
